New Year's a la pregnancy

We headed to dinner with some friends on NYE at an early reservation time slot of 6:15pm. Good thing too, as I was yawning by 8:30pm (didn't get a nap in before dinner). We decided to head home instead of going out after dinner, which was just fantastic to me. I fell asleep at 9:30pm-out like a light. Then, somehow, at 11:59pm I woke up to visit the toilet. I get up about 3-4 times a night to use the bathroom. Frequent urination is definitely one of my symptoms. Anyway, Steve screams "the ball is dropping" and I scream back "well pause the channel til I'm finished" and thus ushered in 2009. I was asleep again by 12:04am. Fun. Sexy. Good times.

In other holiday notes, I just realized that this was the first non-baby related holiday we've had since Memorial Day. As a re-cap, we were in Denver for our 1 day work-up over July 4th, then back again for my ER over Labor Day, and then there once again for our FET over Thanksgiving. Of course, last week's Christmas was filled with joy, fear, anticipation for our initial u/s which was the Day after Christmas. So, maybe this uneventful New Year Holiday was the first of many uneventful holidays in 2009. That would be fantastic!

My first OB appt. is coming up soon-next Tues. (1-6). I got to see the babies again! Hope they are doing well. I worry about them all the time. Are they growing? Are both heartbeats still strong and age appropriate? I could go on and on. I'm pretty sure I'll have these feelings until both are in my arms. Hopefully it will lessen as the pregnancy advances, but just wanted to put some of my fears and concerns out there.

That sounds similar to my NYE. I had to take a nap from about 9:30-11:30. Then I felt much better.

I know what you mean about the joy, fear, and anticipation of a first u/s. I hope your second one goes just as well as your first.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Years! At least you saw the ball drop, even if paused! I was so in bed at 8pm that night.

BTW, those "worries" are normal, but never go away totally, they just change from time to time. My two are 2 and give me plenty of things to keep on my mind...

Happy New Year my twin pregnancy buddy! Glad to hear all is well, and I hear you on the tired thing. I sleep an awful lot. My reproductive doctor is still monitoring me, so my first appointment with my OB is on 1/12/09. Good luck at yours!

Well, I was asleep before the ball dropped but not because of pregnancy fatigue--WORK fatigue did it to me (patients come in holiday or no).

Glad things are moving along so well--good luck at the OB appointment!

Sounds like a nice NYE! The part about you being in the bathroom and Steve pausing the DVR cracked me right up!

Can't wait for you appt - how exciting to see the boys again ;)

First of all, let me say congrats on your pregnancy. I've been following for a while but don't think I've ever commented. I had a question about your estrogen levels. I believe you said that your dr. at CCRM wanted your E2 to be at least 300. Is that correct? My dr. wants it to be at least
200. I just found out that I'm pregnant and my first E2 level was 282. I was comfortable with this level. Within a week it dropped to 202. I'm not very comfortable with this but my dr. says she won't take action until it is below 200. What do you know about E2 levels? What have your dr.s told you will happen if they get too low? I have always had progesterone issues and now it looks like I have E2 issues. Just trying to gather information. Ugh! Thanks!

I also pee at least four times a night. How can a person get a good night's sleep when they're in the bathroom that much? But, whatever we have to do to keep these little ones happy, I know we will. Good luck on Tuesday. You'll definitely be able to see the shape of the baby then, head and little nubs for their arms and legs. Can't wait to see the pics.

Sounds like a lovely NYE!

I felt the exact same way for the first four months of this pregnancy. Until I could feel the babies moving every day, I worried about the same things you've listed. Of course, now I worry about other stuff... I hear it never goes away. We are so blessed :)
