CCRM Update

Well, we haven't gotten many of our tests back just yet, but I'll share some results.

Rachel, our nurse, called yesterday and told me that my AMH=4.2. Anything above 1.5 is considered good, so yay!! Also, everything with the sperm looks good except for morphology. We've had a problem with this before, but since we are doing ICSI, I'm not sure it matters all that much.

Dr. Schoolcraft called me today and discussed his thoughts with me as well. He's not yet ready to say for sure if I have PCOS. Will wait for FSH/LH Day 3 results. He wasn't surprised at my high AMH and AFCs as he figured both would be high based on my previous high egg retrieval numbers. Essentially: I respond to stims VERY well. So, when I asked him what the heck he thinks is wrong with me, he responded that he wants to see what our chromosome b/w analysis looks like when they come back in a couple of weeks. Also, he just reverted back to his lab being so much better and that he's pretty sure I'm going to have better/more embies at CCRM. I hope he is right. Otherwise, our chance for a biological child would be slim to none. And, we don't have a back-up plan in place right now. So, I'm putting all of my eggs into the proverbial basket at this attempt at CCRM.

I'm glad you are finally getting some answers and it sounds like some reassurance as well. Please keep us posted on the rest of the test results.

Hi Jill -- I have been keeping up with your story for a while, and now that I've joined the infertility blogosphere myself I thought I'd finally leave a comment. Just wanted to wish you all the best as these results start coming in. I am keeping my fingers crossed that CCRM is just the ticket for you!

I hope your basket carries you right to motherhood!

ICSI is the cure for morph problems - that is our only known problem, and they did ICSI on all of our eggs.

I'm glad the test results you have gotten back are looking good. I love how thorough CCRM is with everything.

All my best that the rest of your results are just as stellar. (:

I think we are similar... I too have "polycystic appearing" ovaries by ultrasound (43 antral follicles during the IVF cycle), but I don't really think that I had the full blown "syndrome." I would ovulate every month, but it would usually be cycle day 15-18, instead of the "normal" day 14. In any case, the appearance of my ovaries was enough for my RE to put me on metformin. I don't know if it helped or not, but I don't think it hurt anything.

Also, my DH had very low morphology (1%). Yes, we did ICSI too.

I TRULY hope that everything works out great for you next time. It sounds to me like the chances are very good.

Yeah, they told me the same thing about the "don't fly at all but you can fly home." It struck me as inconsistent at the time and I am soooo scared. this feels like my last chance and I don't want to mess it up. I guess I'll fly. I know a couple of people who did that and had awesome BFPs from CC.Rm Looks like we'll have some overlap while we are there. :-) aug 26 - sept 7 if all goes as planned (when's the last time that happened. lol) i am getting excited again.

Hi,

I was just reading your blog and it's almost like reading a page out of my own story. I also have 2 failed IVFs and I'm thinking about going to CCRM for my last and final try. My DH is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and my in-laws live in Covington. I do hope that CCRM is the answer for you and that they get you pregnant.
