Brief embryo update and football (I know, weird combo)...

We flew home on Friday, so I didn't get to post the CCRM info: of the 14 eggs retrieved, we had 10 mature and all 10 fertilized. I'm happy about 100% fertilization of mature eggs since we've never had that with our past 2 IVF's. I'm hopeful that this is one of many good things we'll hear from CCRM! We are supposed to get our Day 3 embryo update later today from CCRM. Fingers crossed!!!

Business as usual back at home Saturday: we went to UK's (that's University of Kentucky Wildcats for those not familiar with the abbreviation) football game. It was fun to tailgate with our friends and kick off another home season of SEC football! Steve and I are huge fans and love our team through the good years and the bad years. It's obviously lots more fun in the good years. We are coming off our 2nd Bowl win in a row season. This isn't much for lots of teams out there, but we are proud of them just the same, especially considering we play in the toughest conference in all of college football. Bold statement I know, but it's not even close to being up for negotiations with fans from other conferences. :-)

Finally, today officially begins the hype of the NFL season (even though there was a Thursday night game already). If you couldn't tell from the above paragraph, I LOVE FOOTBALL. And, I've finally broken into the "boy's game": I've been permitted to join the illustrious Fantasy Football league! My brother (Stephen) who I don't recall having the opportunity to mention before but love him dearly, is involved in and runs 5 or 6 Fantasy leagues. Yes, he is single. How could he fit dating into his busy "fantasy" world? He started a league last year of folks that were kinda Fantasy rookies. I didn't get an invitation, although Steve did. So, I was happy to have been selected as "Fantasy worthy" for the 2008-09 season. We had the draft at our house on Aug. 22nd, which happened to be the night before I left for Colorado. Needless to say, it was a busy time for me! But, it was a lot of fun and today kicks off a season full of fun and hype. Plus, being in the same league with Steve adds a little competitive element to our home life. And most importantly, it helps ease the anxiety I'm having over the status of our embryos...

Hi,

Just curious why you flew back home before the embryo transfer. Are you going to fly back for the transfer.

Are you doing a day 3 or day 5 transfer?

Also 100% fertilization of mature eggs indicates good/proper stimulation. Most clinics expect around 70% fertilization. My last IVF I had close to 100% fertilization with my nature eggs.

Woo hoo!! I can't wait to hear your fertilization report. So will you be flying back out to CO tomorrow or so?

The football stuff sounds like fun. I don't have a college team to cheer for, but we do like the San Diego Chargers! Although, I have to admit, my interest picks up as the season goes on a bit... We actually love tennis, too, and we're looking forward to watching the end of a rain-delayed semifinal match today.

Best wishes for your fertilization report!!!

Congrats on a great fertilization report! What an overachiever :)

I'm just curious--did your doctor recommend CGH? Our CCRM doc did not, and sometimes I feel like we're the only ones not doing it....

Wow, are you every man's dream woman, or what??? Cute, AND a football fan!! :)

Great fertilization report. This is the first of many pieces of good news you'll be reporting, I'm sure!

Hey you! Glad you are home! Thanks so much for the card! Very cute.

All great news from CCRM! YAY!

I am a huge football fan too and was so excited for the season to kick off today. We have our "football sunday" routine.

I am jealous that you are in a FF league. Sean is the commish and I was "not allowed" to join his league. No girls allowed! :P

I hope you kick Steve's butt!

Good luck with everything...embryos and fantasy football! I am in a couples league for the first time this year. I know nothing about FF, so I may need to consult with you when it is "females only" week!

Yea! That's good news. I have been catching up on all my reading because we've been watching football non-stop at my house. I have not made the FF invite list, but neither have any other girls. And there are no girls I know to start one up for girls only.

Holy fertilization report!! Awesome! I hope your day 3 update was just as great!!

LOL about your love of football. (: I'm the bad wife that scheduled our direcTV dish upgrade installation for today between 8-12 and had to watch my husband pace through the house while he missed the first quarter of his game. Bad, bad wife.

Ha, I hate football season...it means our tv is dominated with football and nothing else! I need my mindless america's next top model marathons some days!

wow. 100% fert is awesome. 10 embryos is fantastic too. So I assume you now have the same 4-6 week count down as a few of the other girls?

As for fantasy football, well, I'm about as talented at predicting football winners as I am tightrope walking. Never tried, never will. But I admire your spirit :)
